Minibus transfer towards the central High Atlas through Demnate: breathtaking views from the mountains and its valleys. We meet our team of porters at Aït Boulli (literally « the people with a flock of sheep and goats ») and have lunch. Start of the trekking going up the valley. There are villages of red land, many walnut trees, crossing Tazegzaout, the Aqua n’Daghour and its farming terraces to get to the village of Rougoult.

Walk among gorges and sheepfold through the Assif n’Ait Ahmed towards the tizi n’Rougoult. Lunch at the base. The descent offers a magnificent view over the Tessaout valley.

The beautiful path of Assdremt allows to join the high plateaus at the base of M’Goun. All through the path, you can discover many sinkholes and caves used by the nomads during summer. Many Aït Atta come from the Sarhro to the Tarkedit plateau from May to September for the summer pasture, with their sheep flock and camels that carry their bags.
Camp settlement close to the sources of the Tessaout (2900m), on the beautiful lawns dominated by the ridges of M’Goun. A great scenery.

Early morning departure to reach the long line of the crest of l’Ighil M’Goun, which we pursue to the top, at 4068 meters. This mountain of limestones rich in shells conceals numerous fossils on the crest. Exceptional view over the whole Central High Atlas and, to the south, the Dades valley, the Sarhro, the Draa hamada. Redescent on the Oumsoud pass, to join the bivouac near the sheepfolds of Izabine (2600 m). A western and magical setting.
For those who do not wish to climb, it is possible to follow the muleteers who go directly to the camp.

A stage through magnificent landscapes of red mountains, before crossing the natural barrier of tizi Aït Boualli, at 2 900 meters. From the pass, panoramic view of the Bougmez valley and the sheepfolds of Ikis. Descent through the gorges, before joining the troglodyte houses and then the magnificent village of altitude of Arouss with its adobe houses. Finally, we arrived at the joyous valley of Bougmez.
Dinner and overnight at Agouti, at Ali’s, a guide from Aventure Berbère, and our key man for all of the Central Atlas.
Ali now offers a traditional beldi hammam inside the gite (suggested price: 30 dirhams with a minimum of 4 people).

Last breakfast “berber” at the gite. Then drive back to Marrakech. Lunch on the road. Arrival in Marrakech in the middle of the afternoon.

Reach the summit of the M’Goun, the highest point of Central Atlas, from the Aït Boulli and the Tarkedit, and return by Ikkis and its troglodyte houses, then the « Happy Valley ».
