Day 1
Marrakech – Tassa Ouirgane (1170 m) – Id Aissa (1650m) – beginning of the hike

Departure for the mountains and valleys of the Toubkal massif. Asni, then the village of Tassa Ouirgane, where we meet the team of porters who will accompany us for five days. After lunch in the shade of the junipers and olive trees, we leave for the village of Id Aissa, passing by the observatory of Takhakhourt reserve (national park of Toubkal) and the village of Tiziane; with fruit trees, walnut trees, and apple trees.
Dinner and overnight at a gite at Id Aissa, in the middle of terrace fields.
• Walking tim : 4 h.
• A: 480 m.
• Transfer : 1 h 30 to 2 h.

Day 2
Id Aissa – tizi n’Zik (2490 m) – Imlil – Ait Souka (1800 m)

Through a very soft path close to the cliff, we hike in the direction of tizi n’Zik (2490 m). The hike is fairy-tale like in the villages of the Azaden Valley and is like a walk in a giant garden: terraces, junipers, walnut trees, water mills near the river, adobe houses ranging from ocher to dark red…
At the pass, the slopes of Toubkal appear, as well as the jebel Oukaïmedem; the contrast between the green valleys and the arid mountains that dominate them is always striking. Arrival at Ait Souka, a little above Imlil.
Overnight at Aït Souka, a quality gite, cared for by Ahmed Aït Hammou, a guide who has been working with Aventure Berbère for many years, and key man for all the Toubkal region.
Ahmed now also proposes a traditional hammam beldi within the gite (price: 50 Dhs, approximately).
• Walking time: 4 to 5 h.
• A: 850 m. D: 760 m.

Day 3
Aït Souka – tizi n’Tamatert (2300 m) – Ouaneskra (2190 m)

Crossing of a pine forest of Alep to reach the pass of Tamatert; superb view of the two valleys of Imenane and Aït Mizane. Descent to the village of Tinghrine; then climb to Tamguiste and Ouaneskra. An opportunity to admire the agricultural traditions of the Berber mountaineers. The irrigated terraces on the slopes of the valley. The upper channel (targa) forms an almost straight line division between the brown of the mountain and the green of the crops; the villages are built above so as not to waste any part of fertile land.
Dinner and overnight at Ouaneskra gite.
• Walking time: 4 to 5 h.
• A: 800 m. – D: 400 m.

Day 4
Ouaneskra – tizi n’Eddi (2928 m) – Oukaimedem (2600 m) – Oussertek (2300 m)

Village of Tamguist, then a trail gradually leads to tizi n’Eddi where a splendid panoramic view is offered on the villages and passes crossed the previous days. Magnificent view also on the high valley of Toubkal, Toubkal refuge and the great summits above. Arrival at the Oukaimedem, the only ski resort of the High Atlas. Visit of Neolithic rock carvings. Descent by a road bordered by junipers towards the valley of Oussertek.
Dinner and overnight in a gite.
• Walking time: 4 to 5 h.
• A: 790 m. – D: 600 m.

Day 5
Oussertek – Imeskar – tizi n’El Bour (1500 m) – Imi Oughlad

Nice peaceful day of descent by the mule paths and a bit of road lightly borrowed. Passing through typical villages, Glize, Assaka, Tinghar. Lunch under the walnut trees by the river, near the village of Imeskar, then continuation to cross the pass of tizi n’El Bour; beautiful panorama on the different valleys, the villages and the “4 000” of the High Atlas.
Dinner and overnight in a gite.
• Walking time: 4 to 5 h.
• A: 80 m.  D: 880 m.
